Even if you have never believed in parallel realities, your imagination hasn’t had floated in somewhere high and your dreams seemed to be nonsense, now you can try to look into the strange worlds, bizarre crossing our space.
What for? But do you need really a reason for a spectacular visual journey, where precisely you are the main creator of the history and the guide to other dimensions?
To extend the scope of their submissions, abstract from reality, and simply «take a look» at the clash of different worlds is more than an entertainment, especially if this traveling passes through collages of Japanese artist, musician and designer Jiro Ban (also known as Toshiaki Uchida).
His works are ironic, sometimes funny, sometimes frighteningly ominous, but always filled with emotions. You couldn’t turn away from them with indifference. Something «would hook» you necessarily and make the mind discard all its rationality and simply surrender to the contemplation of incredible things.
Jiro is the professional artist, graduated the fashion academy, where he started to use collage as the favorite artistic technique. Then with learning of graphic applications, he have developed his unique style namely by this method.
Jiro assures us, his images haven’t any deep philosophical roots, no necessary to attempt searching an explanation of each detail, the best way to plunge into his creativity is simply watching and capturing special mood, where are irony, sometimes laugh, and even some sensations of sounds of music.
Jiro is musician, he plays the guitar almost half of his lifetime. Now he has his own band, where he plays the banjo. Music is the another great passion and the origin of inspiration of the artist. Banjo, as the artist himself says, is the voice of his soul. Even part of the word Banjo is his artistic pseudonym.
On October 8 (Mar-Vista Garden, 2-11-15, Chigasaki, Kanagawa 253-0054) the exhibition has opened, where Jiro Ban participates.
